Warranty eligibility

This warranty applies to leaking shower repairs, regrouting, and shower rebuilds carried out by Shiny Shower, where the following conditions are met at the time of service:

  • The work was completed by Shiny Shower technicians at a residential or eligible commercial property in Melbourne, Victoria.
  • The full scope agreed in your Shiny Shower quote was completed without partial cancellation or third-party interference during the works.
  • Payment for the service was made in full within the agreed terms.
  • The shower has been used only for its intended residential or light commercial purpose.

What our warranty covers

During the warranty period, Shiny Shower will return and rectify any defect that arises directly from our workmanship, at no extra cost to you. This includes:

  • Failure of waterproofing materials and membranes applied by Shiny Shower as part of the agreed repair scope.
  • Leaks returning to the treated area of the shower, caused by defects in our workmanship rather than new or external damage.
  • Grout or silicone failure in areas we treated, where the failure is due to our application and not caused by building movement, impact, or misuse.
  • Tile adhesion failure in tiles laid by Shiny Shower, where the failure is due to our materials or installation method.
  • All materials and labour required to rectify a covered defect are included at no cost to you.

Your obligations to keep the warranty valid

To keep your warranty valid, the following must be observed after your Shiny Shower service:

  • Do not use the shower for a minimum of after service completion, or as advised by your technician on the day.
  • Use only pH-neutral cleaning products on treated surfaces. Avoid abrasive cleaners, bleach-based sprays, acidic or alkaline cleaners that can degrade grout, silicone, or waterproofing.
  • Inspect silicone control joints once a year and report any cracking, shrinkage, or peeling to us promptly. Silicone joints are a maintenance item and must be resealed when they show wear, regardless of the warranty period.
  • The shower area must be adequately ventilated during and after use to prevent excess moisture build-up.
  • Do not allow any third party to alter, repair, or work on the treated shower area during the warranty period without prior written consent from Shiny Shower.
  • Notify us as soon as you notice a potential defect. Delay in reporting that leads to further damage may affect the scope of rectification covered.

What our warranty does not cover

The following are not covered under this warranty:

  • Damage caused by building or substrate movement, settlement, or structural issues beyond our control.
  • Leaks or water damage originating from plumbing fixtures, fittings, tap ware, pipes, or drains that were not part of our repair scope.
  • Water ingress from areas outside the original repair zone, or from adjacent wet areas.
  • Grout, silicone, or tile failure caused by use of incorrect cleaning products, abrasive tools, or impact damage.
  • Normal wear and tear, colour variation, or natural ageing of grout, silicone, or tiled surfaces over time.
  • Damage resulting from misuse, neglect, accidental impact, or failure to follow our aftercare instructions.
  • Any work, alteration, or repair carried out on the treated area by a third party during the warranty period.
  • Issues arising from pre-existing conditions that were outside the scope of our agreed repair (e.g. hidden substrate rot, concealed plumbing faults).
  • Cosmetic variations in grout colour, tile finish, or minor surface texture differences that do not affect waterproofing performance.
  • Damage caused by flooding, storm water, or any event classified as force majeure.

Transferring your warranty

The Shiny Shower warranty may be transferred to a new property owner if all of the following conditions are satisfied:

  • The original warranty certificate or booking confirmation is provided as proof of the original work.
  • Shiny Shower is notified in writing of the change in ownership within of settlement.
  • The shower has been properly maintained up to the time of transfer, in line with the owner obligations above.
  • No unauthorised third-party work has been carried out on the treated area prior to transfer.

How to make a warranty claim

If you believe a workmanship defect has occurred within the warranty period, follow these steps:

Go to our Contact page and select Warranty claim from the Service Required list.

Include your original booking reference, a description of the issue, and one or more photos if possible.

We review

We will assess your claim and arrange a site inspection if required. We aim to respond within 2 business days.

We fix it

If the claim is covered, we will schedule a return visit to rectify the issue at no cost. If not covered, we will explain why and advise next steps.

General conditions

This warranty is provided by Shiny Shower and applies to eligible services completed in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is in addition to, and does not limit, any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Shiny Shower reserves the right to assess each warranty claim individually and determine whether the defect is covered under these terms. Our liability is limited to the rectification of covered workmanship defects and does not extend to consequential loss, property damage, or any other indirect loss arising from a defect.

Warranty terms are subject to change for new bookings. Your warranty terms are those current at the time your service was completed.

Our 10-year guarantee covers all workmanship and the waterproofing membrane we install. This includes protection against water leaks, membrane failure, and defects in our installation work. If any issues arise due to our workmanship within 10 years, we'll fix them at no charge.

The guarantee covers defects in workmanship and materials we install. Normal wear and tear, such as general aging of tiles or grout discoloration, is expected over time and not covered. However, any water leaks or membrane failures due to our installation are fully covered.

The guarantee doesn't cover damage from misuse, alterations made by others, natural disasters, building movement, or tiles/fixtures you supplied. It also doesn't cover cosmetic issues like normal grout discoloration or issues caused by poor ventilation or maintenance.

No registration is required! Your guarantee automatically begins from the completion date of your work. We keep all records in our system, and you'll receive documentation at the time of service completion.

We carry comprehensive insurance and have been operating for many years. In the unlikely event we cease operations, our insurance coverage provides protection for warranty claims. Additionally, we're licensed and regulated, providing you with consumer protection.

Yes! Our 10-year guarantee is transferable to new property owners. Simply provide them with your original documentation, and they'll be covered for the remainder of the guarantee period. This can add value when selling your property.

Simply contact us by phone or email and describe the issue. We'll schedule an inspection to assess whether it's covered under warranty. If it is, we'll schedule the repair work at no charge. Most warranty claims are resolved within a week of initial contact.

No! Warranty inspections are completely free. We'll assess the issue and determine if it's covered under warranty. Even if the issue isn't covered (for example, if it's due to external damage), we'll provide a quote for any necessary repairs.
