SERVICE WARRANTY TERMS & CONDITIONS

These Warranty Terms & Conditions apply to all services completed by Shiny Shower Pty Ltd ("Shiny Shower", "we", "our", "us").
This warranty is provided to the original customer listed on the invoice for the property where the works were completed.
1. Australian Consumer Law
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
Customers are entitled to remedies where services fail to meet statutory consumer guarantees under applicable legislation.
This warranty operates in addition to any rights and remedies available under Australian Consumer Law.
2. Scope of Warranty
Subject to these terms and conditions, Shiny Shower Pty Ltd warrants that workmanship completed by us will remain free from defects directly caused by faulty workmanship during the applicable warranty period.
This warranty applies only to:
- the specific services listed on the invoice; and
- the repaired or treated areas completed by Shiny Shower Pty Ltd.
This warranty does not apply to unrelated areas, hidden defects, adjoining building elements, or defects outside the completed scope of works.
3. Warranty Periods
Warranty periods commence from the completion date of the works.

4. Waterproof Warranty
For qualifying leak repair, waterproofing, and rebuild services completed by Shiny Shower Pty Ltd, we warrant that repaired areas will remain watertight during the applicable warranty period where failure is caused directly by defective workmanship completed by us.
This warranty applies only to repaired areas completed by Shiny Shower Pty Ltd and does not guarantee against:
- future structural movement,
- plumbing failures,
- building movement,
- hidden substrate deterioration,
- or water ingress originating outside the repaired areas.
5. Product & Material Information
Shiny Shower Pty Ltd may use specialised grout systems, sealants, membranes, adhesives, silicones, and repair materials depending on the service provided.
Natural variation in:
- grout colour,
- tile shade,
- texture,
- finish,
- or curing appearance
may occur and does not constitute a defect.
6. Existing Damage & Hidden Defects
Shiny Shower Pty Ltd is not responsible for pre-existing damage, deterioration, or hidden defects discovered before, during, or after works are completed.
This includes:
- failed waterproof membranes,
- rotted timber,
- loose substrates,
- rusted framing,
- cracked screeds,
- structural movement,
- water-damaged walls,
- or concealed plumbing defects.
Where additional defects are identified, further repair works may be recommended at additional cost.
If recommendations for further repairs or rebuilds are declined by the customer, warranty coverage may be limited accordingly.
7. Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
- Structural or building movement
- Foundation movement or subsidence
- Cracked tiles occurring after completion
- Plumbing defects or leaking pipes
- Water ingress originating outside repaired areas
- Existing failed waterproof membranes not repaired by us
- Pre-existing deterioration
- Loose or drummy tiles
- Mould, staining, soap scum, or mineral deposits
- Efflorescence
- Harsh chemicals, bleach, acids, or abrasive cleaners
- Impact damage, misuse, or accidental damage
- Damage caused by third-party contractors or trades
- Normal wear and tear
- Poor ventilation or excessive moisture conditions
- Lack of maintenance
- Movement joints or silicone not maintained after expiry
- Repairs completed over unstable or deteriorated substrates where replacement was declined
8. Customer Responsibilities
To maintain warranty validity, the customer must:
- Maintain the shower area in a clean and hygienic condition
- Ensure adequate ventilation is maintained
- Avoid acidic or abrasive cleaning products
- Avoid damaging tiled or repaired surfaces
- Promptly address any new cracking or movement
- Maintain silicone and movement joints after their warranty period expires
- Follow all aftercare instructions provided by Shiny Shower Pty Ltd
Failure to reasonably maintain the repaired area may void this warranty.
9. Drying & Curing
Customers acknowledge that:
- repaired areas require appropriate curing and drying time;
- residual moisture may remain within walls, screeds, or substrates for a period after repairs;
- moisture readings may remain elevated temporarily after leak repairs.
This does not necessarily indicate ongoing leakage or warranty failure.
10. Access & Rectification Rights
Shiny Shower Pty Ltd must be provided reasonable access to inspect any alleged warranty issue before third-party repairs are undertaken.
Customers must provide Shiny Shower Pty Ltd with a reasonable opportunity to assess and rectify any verified warranty-related defect.
Unauthorised repair works completed by others prior to inspection may void this warranty.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shiny Shower Pty Ltd's liability under this warranty is limited to:
- repairing defective workmanship; or
- re-performing the affected services.
Shiny Shower Pty Ltd is not liable for:
- indirect or consequential loss,
- accommodation costs,
- mould remediation,
- plumbing failures,
- loss of income,
- damage outside repaired areas,
- delays outside our control,
- or unrelated building defects.
12. Service Nature
Many Shiny Shower services are repair, maintenance, or rejuvenation solutions intended to extend the usable life of tiled wet areas without complete demolition.
Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, services completed by Shiny Shower Pty Ltd are not represented as a complete bathroom renovation or full structural reconstruction.
13. Transferability
This warranty applies only to the original customer listed on the invoice and is not transferable unless agreed in writing by Shiny Shower Pty Ltd.
14. Warranty Claims Procedure
Warranty claims must be submitted as soon as reasonably possible after an issue is identified.
Claims should include:
- Customer name
- Property address
- Invoice number
- Description of issue
- Supporting photographs where possible
